The well-known international railway portal Railfreight.com organized the Hungarian edition of its “RailFreight on Tour” from October 19th to 20th.
On the first day of the event, the participants could visit the state-of-the-art container terminal of the logistics company EWG in Fényeslitke, which is the first in Europe to use numerous pioneering solutions, both in terms of the efficient execution of terminal processes and tasks, as well as terminal communication (5Gi) and climate neutrality. On the second day, the current challenges of the logistics and railway industry were discussed in the form of interactive presentations, including the developments of the Debrecen industrial park, the Chinese-Hungarian economic and logistics relations, rail network user charges in Hungary and the negative effects of the energy crisis on the railway sector. Technological presentations followed in the third part of the event.
On behalf of GYSEV CARGO Zrt., at the invitation of Railfreight.com, Dr. Zoltán Zentai, Director of Operational Support, gave a presentation on the challenges, opportunities and results of digitization in railway companies, which also addressed key issues such as the conditions for the successful implementation of digitization or the business advantages of digital developments.
