Munich, 3-7 June 2019 – GYSEV CARGO ZRT. can again report about a successful participation at the recent Transport Logistic fair hosted by the Bavarian capital. The huge interest in the Hungarian exhibition area indicates clearly that our country has claimed a significant position in the global logistics market.
Transport Logistic, lasting from Tuesday to Friday is the most prestigious professional event and show of the logistics industry. 2162 exhibitors from 62 countries welcome the army of over 60,000 visitors from 123 countries in an exhibition area of 115,000 square meters. This year’s Transport Logistic defined its main focus as the impact of robotics, artificial intelligence and „extended reality” on the logistics sector.
Last week Munich hosted one of the biggest European professional events of the transport/forwarding industry, the Transport Logistic fair, where, true to the traditions, GYSEV CARGO Zrt. was also represented at the HUNGRAIL stand.
The expo offers an excellent opportunity for GYSEV CARGO Zrt. to meet practically all of its partners and clients directly. During these 4 days of the fair our colleagues had over 150 meetings of various magnitude with professionals representing clients, partner railway companies, wagon rental agencies, etc. – consolidating existing ties and looking for new ones.
We expect that the efforts invested at the event will bring their fruits in the near future, in the form of numerous new assignments and business opportunities in the field of rail transport / logistics.
It was the 4th time that HUNGRAIL (Hungarian Railway Association), representing 100% of Hungarian railway infrastructure operators, 100% of the railway passenger transport and 95% of the railway freight forwarding market in Hungary represented the domestic players of the industry in Munich. The objective of the professional organisation, together with the exhibitors of the Hungarian stand – MÁV, Rail Cargo Hungaria, CER Hungary, GYSEV CARGO, Záhony-Port and PACOBO – is to demonstrate why Hungary is aspiring to become the logistic centre of Central Europe. The huge interest shown towards the stand is a clear indication of the fact that our country has acquired a good position in the global market of logistics.
At the formal opening of the Hungarian stand on Wednesday complimenting speeches were held by dr. Róbert Homolya, Chairman of the association, CEO/Chairman of MÁV, Emőke Barabás, Foreign Trade Attaché of Hungary, dr. Imre Kovács, Chairman of the Board of Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. and dr. László Katona, CEO of MMV Hungarian Private Railway Ltd.
In his speech, Dr. Róbert Homolya pointed out that at the stand of the Association they will put special emphasis on the potential inherent in the development of the railway line between Budapest–Belgrade, as well as on presenting the terminal and railway transport capacities of Hungary. „Our sales colleagues will also have a major task, as their primary objective will be to map eastbound commodity supplies, making eastward traffic profitable” – the Chairman of the infrastructure operator and of HUNGRAIL added.
„While this expo has an international focus, we cannot ignore the fact that Germany – and especially Bavaria – is our most important commercial partner. Last year, breaking all records Bavarian-Hungarian goods traffic made up 13.5 billion euros” – Emőke Barabás reminded the audience in her complimenting speech. The transporting of goods and commodities is a task of special importance, therefore logistics is treated by the consulate general as special area as well – the Foreign Trade Attaché emphasized, also offering the help and support of the Consulate General in Munich in strengthening the economic relationship of Bavaria and Hungary.
Dr. Imre Kovács congratulated dr. Róbert Homolya on his election to become Chairman of HUNGRAIL, then gave a brief summary on the current situation of the Hungarian freight transport industry. „The Hungarian rail cargo industry is going through a very tough period, we have major building jobs behind us and we managed to solve it together. This event is a great opportunity to discuss problems and get prepared for the expectable transportation of bigger volumes of goods in the fall” – the Chairman of the Board of Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. highlighted.
Dr. László Katona expressed his thanks to the organizers of the event, then called the attention of all parties present to the importance of the presence of Hungarian railway companies abroad. In his speech, the CEO of MMV Hungarian Private Railway Ltd put it as follows: „the fact that HUNGRAIL – for the 4th time already – can present itself here at the international stage is a very impressive message towards the world of railways that it certainly makes sense to join forces and cooperate in order to achieve success”.
