Co-operation against railway theft continues
Work of police officers and representatives of rail freight companies recognized
On February 15th, 2022, nine police officers and eleven representatives of rail freight companies were honored for their outstanding achievements in the fight against railway thefts at the Budapest Police Headquarters.
The opening speech of the event was delivered by Dr. Sándor Töreki Major General, Deputy National Police Chief for Crime who recalled the professional forum held in 2020 and welcomed the fact that the cooperation between the police and the companies involved in rail freight transport has continued unbroken ever since.
In the light of the achievements so far and in the hope of further joint work, Imre Vidra from MÁV Zrt., and Csaba Tóth, Operational Director of GYSEV Cargo Zrt., handed over official recognitions to a total of nine employees of the Budapest Police Directorate, the Pest County Police Directorate, the Police Directorate of Cegléd and the National Police Headquarters, while the representatives of the rail freight companies received commemorative certificates and gift packages from Major General Töreki as a token of appreciation.
